A beautiful dining room brings family together around the table. We design dining spaces with custom tables, statement lighting, crockery units and coordinated furniture for memorable meals.
The light above a dining table needs to be at the correct height - too high and it fails to define the table, too low and it obstructs conversation. We install pendant lights and chandeliers at 750–850mm above the table surface, positioned so the bottom of the fixture is at eye level when seated. This creates intimacy without blocking sight lines across the table.
We match the dining table shape to the room shape. Rectangular rooms get rectangular tables. Square rooms get round or square tables. A round table in a long, narrow room disrupts flow. A rectangular table in a square room looks out of proportion. This is a basic rule that we apply rigorously because it determines how the room moves.
A crockery unit is not just storage - it is part of the dining experience. We place it so it is accessible from the dining table without crossing the main circulation path. The glass display sections are positioned at eye level for the people seated at the table. And we integrate LED lighting inside the glass sections to illuminate the display - turning the crockery unit into a visual feature, not just a piece of storage.
We maintain a minimum of 900mm clearance from the dining table edge to any wall or furniture. This allows a person to be seated and another to pass behind them without disruption. When this clearance is compromised, dining becomes awkward every time someone needs to leave the table. We measure this clearance before finalising the layout and do not compromise on it.
