A beautifully designed home bar transforms entertaining into a luxury experience. We design stylish home bars with wine racks, bottle storage, bar counters and ambient lighting for every home.
A home bar has its own work triangle: the preparation area, the bottle storage, and the glassware. We position these three points within easy reach of the bartender without crowding the guest area. The result is a bar that is easy to work behind and comfortable to sit at.
Wine bottles should be stored horizontally to keep the cork moist. Our wine racks are designed with a slight tilt to the horizontal so bottles rest properly. Temperature and humidity are considered - we avoid placing wine storage near heat sources or in direct light.
Backlit display shelves are positioned at eye level for seated guests, not at ceiling height. The lighting is placed behind the bottles so the labels are illuminated, not the back wall. This creates a display that is visible and inviting from across the room.
A bar counter is higher than a dining table - typically 1050–1100mm. Bar stools are sized to this height with footrests at the correct position. We ensure the overhang is sufficient for knees and that the counter depth allows for service without reaching.
