Where Focus Meets Inspiration
A well-designed study room makes learning and working a pleasure. We design dedicated study rooms with built-in bookshelves, ergonomic study tables and proper task lighting.
A study table that causes back or neck strain defeats its purpose. We build study tables at 730–760mm height for seated work, with knee clearance of at least 600mm depth. Monitor placement is designed so the screen top is at or slightly below eye level. We specify ergonomic chairs with adjustable height and lumbar support. These details matter for anyone spending hours at a desk.
Poor lighting causes eye strain and shadows that make reading difficult. We position task lighting on the opposite side of the writing hand to eliminate shadows. Ambient lighting is diffused to avoid glare on screens. Natural light is managed with adjustable blinds that can direct light where needed without creating hot spots. A study room with good lighting is noticeably easier to work in for long periods.
A study room does not need to be anechoic - it needs to be acoustically comfortable. We add acoustic panels on the ceiling or walls to reduce echo and soften sound transmission from other parts of the home. Bookshelves loaded with books also act as natural sound diffusers. The result is a room where you can focus without feeling isolated.
A good study room has zones: the focused work zone with the main desk, the reference zone with bookshelves, and a planning zone with a whiteboard or pinboard. Even in a small study, we create these zones by using wall surfaces intelligently. When these zones exist, the room naturally supports different modes of thinking - reading, writing, planning - without requiring you to move far from your desk.
