A beautifully designed TV unit is the focal point of every living room. We design bespoke TV units with built-in storage, back panels and LED lighting that elevate the entire room.
The centre of the TV screen should be at eye level when seated. For most sofas, this means the TV centre is at 1100–1200mm from the floor. We calculate this before designing the TV unit. A TV mounted too high is the most common mistake in living rooms - causing neck strain and a viewing experience that feels wrong. We measure this before a single cut.
A TV unit should not be a small island floating on a large wall. We size the unit to the wall - either the full width of the wall or exactly centred with balanced negative space on both sides. When the unit is properly proportioned to the wall, the room feels intentional. When it is undersized, the TV wall looks like an afterthought.
LED backlighting behind a TV is not just for mood. It reduces eye strain by balancing the brightness between the screen and the wall. We design backlighting as a permanent feature - either a continuous LED strip behind the TV panel or a backlit panel that extends beyond the TV. The result is a TV wall that works as well in the evening with the lights dimmed as it does in the daytime.
Every TV unit we design has dedicated, labelled compartments for set-top box, game consoles, sound system and network equipment. Each has ventilation, cable access and easy front or side access. When each device has its designated place, the system is easier to manage and upgrade. We also plan for future devices - an extra compartment for something you do not own yet is always included.
